HB1617 bill would amend current statute to require guardian ad litem programs to: (1) With volunteer guardian ad litem coordinators, ensure that those coordinators supervise no more than thirty volunteer guardians ad litem; and (2) Provide additional training to volunteer guardian ad litem coordinators to include the screening of volunteer guardian ad litem reports before those reports are submitted to the court. The bill defines "volunteer guardian ad litem coordinator" as an employee of a guardian ad litem program who has the responsibility to train, monitor, coach, supervise, and review reports for volunteer guardians ad litem.
