HB 2024 would allow governing boards of institutions of higher education to temporarily authorize temporary use of student housing facilities, without charge or at a reduced fee, by low-income homeless students attending that institutions when facilities are otherwise unused by students who are paying student housing fees. These stipulations would be subject to the terms and conditions developed by the institution of higher education.
HB 2024 was initially introduced in 2015 and referred to the House Higher Ed Committee. The bill did not move out of the Higher Ed committee in 2015 and retained its status in 2016. It did not come up for a hearing in the House Higher Ed Committee and therefore is dead.
