Legislation had previously banned the use of electronic benefits cards at specialty food and wine stores. As this designation is given to many small, rural grocery stores, benefits shall be allowed to be used if the store is licensed as an authorized Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) or Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) retailer.
