HB 3006 amends language relating to current statute on the four-year balanced budget. The bill amends the definition of the term "projected maintenance level". It removes language that excludes costs in the 2013-2015 and 2015-2017 fiscal biennia relating to enhanced funding under the new definition of basic education as established in chapter 548, Laws of 2009 and affirmed by the decision of Mathew McCleary et al. v. The State of Washington (2012). It adds language to the definition of projected maintenance level that includes estimated expenditures by school districts that are for implementation of the state's program of basic education but are supported with maintenance and operation levies.
HB 3006 was referred to House Appropriations on March 8th but has not been scheduled for a hearing. Dead.
