This bill aims to better align federal support programs and prevention strategies to protect vulnerable youth. The bill will expand demographic information collected on incidence and prevalence of child abuse to include gender identity and sexual orientation. Additionally, the bill requires inclusion of those experienced in working with Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer (LGBTQ) youth and families in state task forces and grant funding to train staff to meet the needs of LGBTQ youth.
