This bill will authorize three programs aimed at preventing and intervening in child abuse involve Native children. The Indian Child Abuse Treatment Grant Program will provide funding to tribal services for culturally appropriate treatment. A new National Indian Child Resource Service Center will provide technical assistance to Tribes and Urban Indigenous Centers in regards to information and resources for child abuse. This program will encourage intergovernmental cooperation between Federal and Tribal personnel. The bill will also reauthorize the Indian Child Protection and Family Violence Preventino Program, which will fund establishment of Tribal programs that prevent, investigate, and prosecute child and family violence.
