Sets forth requirements that would increase availability of peer services in behavioral health settings by:

  • Providing definitions regarding authority and peer support services
  • Establishing a peer counselor certification program to support peer delivery services that includes reimbursement
  • Establishing entities to perform specialized peer training for peer counselor certification
  • Requiring the authority to cooperate with the department of health in its sunrise review to evaluate the need for the creation of an advanced peer support specialist credential

The provisions mentioned in this bill would take effect immediately.
