SB6253 expands the Passport To College Promise program (formerly focused on youth in foster care) to include youth experiencing homelessness and foster youth thirteen and older.

The bill adds eligibility for the program to include students who have emancipated from the tribal, or federal foster care systems (previously state only) and from the jurisdiction of the interstate compact on the placement of children after having spent at least one day (from one year) day in care and also adds youth who have experienced homelessness for at least one day.
