SB 6297 requires the Department of Health to develop and make available resources for pregnant women regarding recommended childhood immunizations. The resources are intended to be provided to pregnant women by their health care providers to encourage discussion on childhood immunizations and postnatal care.

Substitute bill:  As amended, the bill title is changed from “An Act Relating to childhood immunization information,” to “An Act Relating to providing information regarding childhood immunizations to pregnant women.”

Senate floor amendment: The floor striking amendment states that the department shall develop and make available resources for pregnant women regarding recommended childhood immunizations. The resources are intended to be provided to pregnant women by their health care providers to encourage discussion on childhood immunizations and postnatal care and must incorporate information about flexible approaches to vaccinations that reflect the perspective of the family and the impact on the individual child."

Health and Wellness Committee amendment: The committee striker does the following: Changes references to "pregnant women" to "expecting parents:" and, eliminates the requirement that the immunization information incorporate flexible approaches to vaccinations that reflect the perspective of the family and impacts on the child.
