Governor: Funding and staffing are provided to improve federal work participation rates in the WorkFirst program. Some of the changes include an orientation for new clients, quicker termination of clients who do not participate, a requirement that both parents in a two-parent household must participate, and incentive grants to households that meet their participation goals. One-time federal funding from the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families Contingency Fund will cover the cost of the changes.
Senate: Funding is reduced to align funding with expenditures for the WorkFirst program. Changes include departmental modifications to WorkFirst Partner contracts and reduced diversion cash assistance expenditures.
House: Included a variety of items, funded with TANF/contingency funding.
