HB 1035 adds language to the Public Records Act relating to protecting the personal information of a person acting as a guardian ad litem. The current residential address, telephone number, and any other identifying information of a guardian ad litem are exempt from disclosure and must be automatically withheld from public viewing or copying, unless the guardian ad litem specifically requests that the information be released. The intent is to protect the guardian ad litem and his or her family from potential harm.
