This bill proposes the creation of an expanded learning opportunity program administered by the Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction in order to close opportunity gaps for students.
Demonstration projects would be created within selected school districts for a period of five years to remedy summer learning loss and provide more time for instruction and/or enrichment opportunities.
Clarifies appropriations from the general fund to support the purposes of this act, as well as for staff to support the Office of the Superintendent.
