HB 1355 changes the requirements of the minimum hourly wage paid by employers to employees who are 18 years old and older a rate of not less than $10 per hour, beginning January 1, 2016 until January 1, 2017. Beginning January 1, 2017 until January 1, 2018 the minimum hourly wage increases to $10.50. Beginning January 1, 2018 until January 1, 2019 the minimum hourly wage increase to $11. Beginning January 1, 2019 until January 1, 2020 the minimum hourly wage increases to $12. Beginning January 1, 2020 and each following January 1st employers must pay hourly wages at a rate no less than the minimum wage rate established by the Department of Labor & Industries.

This act takes effect January 1, 2016.
