HB 1630: Allowing minors to consent to share their personally identifying information in the Washington homeless client management information system

This bill would amend current statute to authorize an unaccompanied youth who is at least thirteen years old to give consent for the collection of his or her personally identifying information for the state homeless client management information system.

Striking Amendment in Human Services, Mental Health and Housing Committee added the following:

The bill states that the unaccompanied youth 13 years or older can give consent for the collection of his or her personally identifying information for entry into the WA homeless client management information system (HMIS); however, if the service provider receives public funding, the youth must provide this information in order to receive services (in accordance with Federal law).
