HB 1898: Relating to protection of child victims

HB 1898 adds to child victim’s rights the right to testify remotely by closed-circuit TV in certain cases where it would be traumatic for the child to testify in the same room as their assailant. To raise awareness regarding this procedure, training materials for investigating and prosecuting sexual assault cases, will reference to the possibility that a court may allow children under the age of 14 to testify in a room outside the presence of the defendant and the jury.
