HB 1944: Increasing the time period that certain parents receive supervision after reunification during child welfare court proceedings

HB 1944 states that when a child is ordered home by a court, the Department of Children, Youth, and Families shall continue casework supervision for at least five years. At the end of the five-year period, a court shall hold a review hearing and determine whether or not continued intervention is needed in cases involving a parental substance use disorder or conviction of a crime against children.
