HB 2373: Relating to evaluating student mental health services and providing students with skills that promote mental health and well-being and increase academic performance

HB 2373 would amend state law to mandate educational service districts to develop and maintain the capacity to serve as a convener, trainer, and mentor for educators, administrators, and other school district staff on social and emotional learning. This would be required by either hiring staff with this expertise or be contracting these requirements with individuals. Additionally, this bill would mandate the joint legislative audit and review committee to conduct an inventory of mental health models available to students through schools, school districts, and educational service districts and report its findings by October 31, 2016.
