HB 2436: Defining community health workers and their roles

Community health worker is defined as a frontline public health worker who works to improve community health or the health of populations. 

Roles include: cultural mediation, culturally appropriate health education, outreach, care coordination and management, providing coaching and social support, advocacy, building individual and community capacity, providing various direct services, implementing assessments, and engaging in research and evaluation.
