HB 2450: Supporting the business of child care

Support early learning providers with the goal of making the business of child care sustainable and mutually beneficial for providers, children, parents and the state.

The department will develop a community-based training module for child care providers to focus on managing and sustaining a business. This would be offered in various communities by state-approved trainers. Following the pilot program, the training must be made available to all child care providers no later than July 1, 2021.

The department must collaborate with the state board for community and technical colleges to align with existing offered coursework. This early childhood education curriculum will be incorporated into coursework by the fall 2021 academic year as an elective.
