HB 2964: Relating to eliminating lunch copays for students who qualify for reduced-price lunches

HB 2964 defines “lunch copay” as the amount a student who qualifies for a reduced-price lunch is charged for a reduced-price lunch. The bill adds language to current statute that, to the extent funds are appropriated for this purpose, school districts with school lunch programs must eliminate lunch copays for students in kindergarten through twelfth grade who qualify for reduced-price lunches beginning in the 2016-2017 school year.
