This act will direct the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) to develop and implement an outreach and education strategy to promote behavioral and mental health among Hispanic and Latino populations. Specifically, the strategy must provide information on evidence-based practices, interventions, and treatments that are culturally appropriate, increase awareness of symptoms of mental illnesses that are common among Latino and Hispanic populations, ensure participation of consumers and community members in material develop and implementation, and address the impact that the COVID-19 pandemic has had on the mental and behavioral health of Latino and Hispanic populations.
