HR 438: To amend the Alyce Spotted Bear and Walter Soboleff Commission on Native Children Act to extend the deadline for a report by the Alyce Spotted Bear and Walter Soboleff Commission on Native Children, and for other purposes.

This bill will extend the deadline for a report on social, cultural, and economic challenges facing Alaska Native, Native Hawaiian, and Native American youth from 3 years to 5 years after an 18-month delay in funding. The Alyce Spooted Bear and Walter Soboleff Commission on Native Children conducts a comprehensive study on programs, grants, and supports available for Native Children and makes relevant recommendations by building on strengths and leadership of Native communities. The Commission’s recommendations help ensure the delivery of effective, culturally appropriate services to Native children.
