HR 5: Equality Act

This bill prohibits discrimination based on sex, sexual orientation, and gender identity in public accomodations and facilities, education, federal funding, employment, housing, and the jury system. The bill expands the definition of public accomodations. The bill specifically identifies that an individual can’t be denied access to shared facilities like restrooms, locker rooms, or dressing rooms that are in accordance with the individual’s gender identity.
