HR 68: Housing Fairness Act of 2021

This bill expands effort to address housing discrimination by requiring the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to conduct a nationwide testing program. The program will aim to detect and document differences in treatment of prospective renters and homebuyers, measure patterns of adverse treatment by certain demographics, such as race, sex, or disability, and measure the prevalence of discriminatory practices across housing and lending markets. The bill also provides a grant program for organizations to conduct studies on housing discrimination and to implement pilot projects to address this issue.
