This bill is a comprehensive coronavirus relief package. It will provide nearly $1 trillion to state, local, territorial, and tribal govenrments to assist in paying vital workers. It also includes a provision for hazard pay for essential workers. In addition, it provides $75 billion for coronvirus testing, tracing, treatment, and hospital/provider supports.
It would provide a second $1200 stimulus check to individuals, enhance protections to encourage employers to keep employees on their payroll, ensures worker safety through OSHA standards, preserves health coverage, extends the $600 weekly federal unemployment payments, bolsters housing assistance, will increase SNAP benefits, help to ensure a safe election and preserve the Postal Service.
