This act is composed of twelve individual bills. The act will make investments in social determinants of health, such as housing, transportation and nutrition, provide funding to organizations working to improve maternal health ourcomes, complete a comprehensive study on maternal health risks facing pregnant and post-partum veterans, grow and diversify the perinatal workforce, improve data collection processes and quality measures to understand the causes of the maternal health crisis, support moms with maternal mental health conditions, improvement maternal health care and support for incarcerated moms, invest in digital tools like telehealth, promote innovative mayment models and continuuity of insurance coverage, invest in programs to address risks of COVID-19 during and after pregnancy, invest in initiatives to address climate-change related risks for moms and babies, and promote maternal vaccinations.
