S 1660: Health Equity and Access under Law (HEAL) for Immigrant Families Act

This act will lift the current five-year wait period that is required for lawfully present immigrants to access Medicaid and the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP). The act will also remove current restrictions that prevent undocumented immigrants from purchasing care through the Affordable Care Act marketplace. Further, the act provides access to public and affordable health care coverage for Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) recipients.
