S 1780: Diversify Act

This act aims to help create a well-prepared and diverse educator workforce by increasing the maximum TEACH grant award to $8,000 per year instead of $4,000. The act will also protect the TEACH grant award from being cut by the Budget Control Act and will eliminate the loan coversion penality. The act will also allow the TEACH grant program to cover the full cost of attendance, rather than only tuition, fees, and on campus housing. Finally, the act will require the Secretary of Education to send grant recipients who have complted their service an electronic certification.
