S 3672: Pandemic TANF Assistance Act

This bill authorizes a $10 billion Coronavirus Emergency Assistance Grant Program through which states, territories, and tribes could provide direct cash assistance to help families and individuals respond to the economic impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The funds are intended for families with incomes below 200 percent of the federal poverty line. States with higher poverty rates would get a larger share of the funds. The bill also suspends TANF work requirements and time limits that may otherwise prevent families from receiving assistance.
