SB 5181: Relating to flame retardants

Sponsored by Senator Nelson, SB 5181 is the companion bill to HB 1294.

Substitute bill:  As amended, SB5181 specifies that the prohibitions on products containing any flame retardant identified as a chemical of high concern for children applies to products containing the flame retardant in amounts greater than 50 ppm in any product component, rather than greater than 50 ppm in the product.   The substitute bill clarifies that manufacturers can mark as confidential information, rather than only data, when they submit materials to the DOE.
