This bill proposes the creation of an expanded learning opportunity program administered by the Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI) in order to close opportunity gaps for students.
Demonstration projects would be created within selected school districts for a period of five years to support combatting summer learning loss and more time for instruction and/or enrichment opportunities.
Clarifies appropriations from the general fund in order to support the purposes of this act, as well as for staff to support the OSPI.
