SB 5506: Relating to including information on preventing sexual abuse and violence in sexual health education

SB 5506 adds a requirement that every public school that offers sexual health education include information on preventing sexual abuse and violence and understanding consent. The OSPI, in consultation with the Dept. of Health, is instructed to add to the contents of the sexual health education curricula that are consistent with the 2005 guidelines for sexual health information and disease prevention, information on preventing sexual abuse and violence and understanding consent.
