SB 5702: Requiring coverage for donor breast milk.

SSB 5702 states that health plans issued or renewed after January 1, 2023 and the state Medicaid must provide coverage for medically necessary donor human milk for inpatient use for parents and children who have issues chest feeding and meet certain criteria. Health plans and the Health Care Authority may require expedited prior authorization to receive coverage for donor human milk. Additionally, the bill states that the Department of Health must adopt standards for milk bank safety.
