SB 5945: Creating a pilot project to reduce youth gang involvement, crime, and violence in eastern Washington

The bill provides funding ($2.896m) to Building Bridges East, a non profit agency, to reduce gang involvement , crime and violence in eastern WA.  The funds must be used to contract for the operation of the El Nuevo Camino pilot projects in designated cities.  Specifics of the program’s operation, expected outcomes and reporting requirements are delineated in the bill.
