Introduces the development and availability of an online training for school staff on recognition, screening, and response to emotional or behavioral distress in students. The training required would be in addition to existing requirements.
School staff may complete the required three-hour suicide prevention training in lieu of the one-hour online suicide prevention training.
Subject to the availability of funds, each educational service district will identify a regional mental health coordinator to provide technical assistance and training to school district to meet the requirements, track completion, and report to OSPI by June 30 of each year.
