SB 6225: Health coverage for young adults

Adds language indicating that the Health Care Authority shall provide health coverage to individuals who:

• are at least 19 years old and no older than 26 years old, 

• have an income that is at or below 133% of the FPL, 

• are not incarcerated, and 

• are not eligible for categorically needy medical assistance as defined in Social Security Title XIX state plan. 

The amount, scope, and duration of health care services must be the same as that provided to individuals eligible for categorically needy medical assistance.

The Health Care Authority will also seek federal funds if available.
