Every patient who presents to a medical facility with an indication of a substance use disorder must be provided with the following: a substance use disorder evaluation, medically necessary services for treatment, information about treatment services, recovery planning tools, and notification of discharge to their emergency contacts. The department must develop best practices and protocols to meet these requirements. The authority shall prepare a gap analysis and implementation plan by December 2021.
