SB 6343: Concerning the abatement of child support for incarcerated obligors

Child support orders may be automatically abated to $10 monthly when the person required to pay support is incarcerated for at least six months and has no income or assets available to pay support. If not done automatically, this abatement can be requested. Details regarding qualifications and procedures are outlined. Language from previous statute is changed from “parent” to “person.”
