The bill places a priority on achieving decent, appropriate, and affordable housing for every low income person by 2026, with a particular emphasis on very low-income households. The bill would instruct the department in conjunction with the Affordable Housing Advisory Board to annually update the state Affordable Housing for All plan with specific strategies, objectives, goals, and performance measures. The plan may be combined with the state Homeless Housing Strategic Plan or any other state housing plans. The bill would amend current state statute on reporting regarding affordable housing to develop recommendations for Affordable Housing for All program measures, short and long term goals, timelines and present to appropriate committees to adopt the plan by June 30, 2018.
