SB 6525: Relating to exempting from the prevailing wage laws work performed or funded by nonprofit organizations

SB 6525 exempts any portion of work on a public works project that is performed or funded by a nonprofit organization from this chapter from the law requiring that: hourly wages must be paid to laborers, workers, or mechanics, upon all public works and under all public building service maintenance contracts of the state or any county, municipality or political subdivision created by its laws, shall be not less than the prevailing rate of wage for an hour’s work in the same trade or occupation in the locality within the state where such labor is performed.

For the purposes of this bill, “nonprofit organization” means any organization holding tax exempt status as provided under 26 U.S.C. Sec. 501(c).
