6535 adds language that includes those who obstruct the duty of a mandatory reporter to be guilty of a gross misdemeanor. Every person who is required to make a report or cause a report to be made and fails to, due to negligence, shall be guilty of an infraction by law enforcement officers or prosecuting attorneys with a penalty of $100. 

Additionally, state contracts with youth-serving organizations shall include a requirement that youth-serving organizations provide a signed acknowledgement of the organization’s compliance with the mandatory reporter posting law.
