SHB 1759 requires each school district and educational service district that maintains a website to list a prominent link to information from the Department of Health about substance use trends, overdose symptoms and response, and the secure storage of prescription drugs, over-the-counter medicine, and firearms and ammunition on their website’s homepage. The school district or educational service district must also communicate this information digitally and non-digitally at least quarterly. Additionally, the bill outlines how the Department of Health must update its information about these topics and make the information available to schools.
