SJR 8202: Amendment to the Constitution

SJR 8202 would require that at the next general election the Secretary of State must submit to the voters for their approval and ratification, or rejection, an amendment allowing the legislature to enact taxes on income. The Resolution goes on to say that the legislature may not increase the rates of the tax established in the act initially adopting an income tax unless the increase is submitted to and approved by the majority of the voters.
