How Do You Use Our Data Portal?

When we launched the Washington State Child Well-Being Data Portal over a year ago, our hopes were high – we wanted advocates, policymakers and other community leaders to use our Data Portal to inform decisions around child welfare practice and policy. Ultimately, we believe that informed decision-making is the best way to improve outcomes for vulnerable children and families.

Since launch, we’re pleased with what we’ve accomplished. Anecdotally, we hear the Data Portal has been instrumental in policy development, grant writing, program planning and more. We’ve even heard from another state that our Data Portal should serve as a national model for how this sensitive data can be effectively shared

But anecdotes aren’t enough; we want specifics of how individuals, organizations or agencies are using our Data Portal. We want to hear from YOU.

  • How have you used our Data Portal before?
  • Has it been helpful to your work?
  • Have you used data from the portal to inform important decisions?
  • How often do you use it?
  • Are we missing something that is of interest to you?
  • Is there anything else you’d like to tell us about our Data Portal?

As we think through the evolution of the Data Portal, this feedback will be critical because the only way to truly be successful is to ensure that the tool works for the people using it. Please share your comments below or email our communications manager, Erika Novak at elnovak@uw.edu.  Thanks in advance for your feedback!

If you’re unfamiliar with the Data Portal, we’re happy to give in-person or virtual tutorial presentations. You can request onehere or email us at info@partnersforourchildren.org.
