Governor: Implementation grants are offered for elementary schools to implement breakfast after the bell programs. These programs increase the number of students accessing school breakfast programs on a daily basis.
House: Funding is provided for implementation of House Bill 1295 (breakfast after the bell), which requires school districts that have a free and reduced price lunch qualified population of 70 percent or more to provide breakfast after the bell and which requires the state to provide $6,000 grants to each school to fund the start-up costs of a breakfast after the bell program.
