House: The Health Care Authority received more grant funding than anticipated to implement the State Health Care Innovation Plan, now called the Healthier Washington program.
Senate: In February 2013, Washington State received nearly $1 million from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services Innovations Fund to develop the State Health Care Innovation Plan. Additional funding was provided to fully develop and implement the five-year innovation plan under Chapter 223, Laws of 2014, Partial Veto (E2SHB 2572) with the expectation to slow the growth of state health care costs. In December 2014, Washington State received a grant of $65 million to implement its State Health Care Innovation Plan.
