This bill establishes a national goal of reducing child poverty by half within ten years and will require that the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and the U.S. Census Bureau track annual progress towards this goal. The bill will also direct the National Academy of Sciences to establish a Child Poverty Reduction Strategy Clearinghouse, mandate the National Academy of Sciences to update their "Roadmap to Reducing Child Poverty" within three years and to publish a new consensus study on policies to reduce long-term, intergenerational child poverty.
