This act will require employers to permit employees to earn up to 56 hours of paid sick time, including paid time for family care. The act will also require employers to allow employees who are victimes of domestic violence, sexual assault, or stalking to use paid time to receive treatment and take necessary safety steps. The act will also implement a study, to be conducted by the Comptroller General, to evaluate employees' access to sick time, awareness of their rights under this act, and employers's experiences complying with the act. The study will take into account access, awareness, and experiences of employees by race, ethnicity, gender, and occupation.
