In this article, we describe two innovative approaches to parent engagement, the challenges and innovative features of each approach, and program efficacy data. The first model, known as the Parent Mentoring Program, is a mentoring program using specially trained foster parents to support biological parents. The second model, the Parent Partners Program is a peer-to-peer program that employs parents who have successfully navigated the child welfare system.
