We took a look at what you were most interested in on our blog in 2015. Turns out, it’s a very well-rounded list – everything from event recaps to analyzing data trends to updates on new policies. Without further ado, here are the Top Five 2015 blog posts:
1. How Are Children Faring in the Child Welfare System? Our 2015 Annual Report drew the most attention in 2015. This report was created to help Washington better understand how children served by the state child welfare system are faring in the areas of safety, permanency, and well-being & education. Stay tuned for our 2016 Annual Report in the coming months!
2. New Law Helps Parents Navigate Child Welfare System. This new law will help vulnerable families reunite or stay together through the “Parents for Parents” model – using parents who have interacted with the child welfare system to engage new parents.
3. Poverty & Child Welfare Forum. Our third annual Child Welfare Trends Forum was quite a hit! We were honored to have so many in attendance and a very knowledgeable panel to speak about issues related to poverty and child welfare. It was such a success that we’re already starting conversations for our next one!
4. Frontiers of Innovation Forum: A Recap. Another event that Partners for Our Children was a part of – discussing science-based innovation that leads to dramatically larger impacts on the lives of young children whose needs (or the needs of the adults who care for them) are not being met by existing policies and programs.
5. What Does Age Have to Do With Adoption? This post looks at the data to better understand how age is a factor in adoption.
It should also be noted that while Oliver Will Soon Be Helping Runaway and Homeless Youth was posted in 2015, it actually piqued enough interest in 2016 to top this list. So it’s not technically on the Top Blog Post list for 2015, but it certainly gained steam after the New Year. Don’t be surprised if it tops the charts next year!
